welcome to my summer 2022 fabric haul.

all the goodies have been linked for your convenience.

summer is bringing all the fun, bold colors and lightweight, flowy fabrics

😍😍😍

daisy's shadow embroidered dress

I'm diving into another heavily embroidered dress using shadow work embroidery and floche. the dress will have a bodice with a full circle skirt with two layers. one for the transparent overlay with the embroidery, and the lining layer, if you will, made of silk charmeuse. then the entire garment will be polished off with this lovely silk charmeuse piping - some of my absolute favorite trim!! been using it for years and years now.

audrey's summer nightgowns

audrey is getting all the fun, flowy summer nightgowns ...and I'm kinda jealous hahaa! maybe this will be practice for some nightgowns for myself. but anywho, we've got three sweet numbers.

the first nightgown is using this lovely aqua swiss muslin. it's also called angel fabric by some and I've used it for years - love it! it's flowy, drapey, airy! just all the things that make for perfect baby gowns and nightgowns. I'm going to pair it with this ribbon and I'm excited to see how this comes together.

then there's this sweet handkerchief linen number that is going to be finished off with this picot bias band trim

how fun is this fabric!! that's her third and final nightgown (at least for now, ha!) and I think it'll be so sweet and colorful for her summer dreams.

encantoooo!! get ready!

so our sweet daisy has a new favorite movie. I know, Disney's frozen has taken a backseat to the encanto! the main girl has a fun, spunky dress and I'm excited to recreate it for daisy. I think it's going to be so fun and such a different route with all the bold colors than my usual style.

this dress is very much going to come together as I go, kinda making it up as I go along type of deal, which I'm totally fine with ;-)

farmhouse has this sweet fabric - such a perfect find for the collar and sleeves! then the bodice is going to use this pima cotton, and the skirt is going to be a combination of several imperial broadcloths

last but certainly not least, there's various ribbons and trims for the embellishments.

the rapunzel birthday dress!

for audrey's sixth birthday, she has requested to dress up in a rapunzel dress, and I'm all for it! so I dove into a variety of purple fabrics and embellishments, and I'm super excited to see how everything comes together. it's going to be a very different from my norm.

sooo... this is the goal. cross your fingers and throw some salt over your shoulder!
